I figure with favorite you mean the people you want to put on your devwatch. The simplest way is to go to their page and click on the +deviantwatch button on their page. DA will then go to your page to be exactly on your watch and all you have to do is click on the update button of your devwatch page.

If you mean favorites as the pieces that others have produced there is a little favorite button on the page of the deviation. Click it and it will ask you whether you're sure to want to add that deviation to your favorites. When you click yes, in the case that you are not the first one to favorize a piece DA will tell you what other deviations have been favorized by the people that choose this piece. Maybe you have the same interest as others, I always ignore it. I feel like I'm a big guy who can make up his own mind.

About my journal, well I'm just rambling I call it scrapp. For a part I am a scrapp writer. Which means that I try to elevate notes, outlines, characterizations, stereotypes and the likes to art. It's a quite funny technique that I'm still fine-tuning. Call it rapping on paper with pen and ink. Or on a computersreen with bouncing electrons.
