i. oklahoma wasn't the fanciest state in the nation, so hailey was still getting used to the cities she traveled to on tour and the dangers that came with them.

ENHANCED HEARING, while it was the most unusual and inhumane form of torture during school with all its bells and rambunctious teenagers and ringing ears and all, and not to mention the entirety of New York in general, came remarkably in handy when it came to slinging around the city. Mostly, though, for eavesdropping on monologuing criminals that had no idea that he was there. It was hilarious. Who knew that people spoke aloud so much all the time? After so much exposition, Spider-Man acquired the ability to plan a strategy beforehand. And also quips. That's very important.
For example: he'd come across a vigilante watching the news channel intently -- about her damn self. Not that he's one to judge -- he did it all the time, and even subjected himself to a certain avid "wall-crawling menace" hater just because of his awful sense of curiosity. Oh, quip idea: connect with Miss Vigilante over there that he also watches himself on the news. Maybe he can initiate some sort of moral rebound and they can laugh at news innacuraces together -- well, unlikely, but. He can dream!
Wouldn't that be fun? He didn't really do press conferences, unlike the Avengers, due to being a small-time superhero and general lack of free time -- so assumptions were natural. And they were so, so funny. He still wasn't over them thinking he had hair all over him like some sort of tarantula. Ridiculous. Oh -- apparently the vigilante noticed him. And also talked at him. It was probably important that he listened. Oops. Quietly, he whispers:" Hey, Karen, what'd she say ? "
