Oh really? The UI was one thing that put me off, everything was big and clunky. I like it KISS. In the version I tried you could move things around, but not completely. I still way prefer the brushes in Mypaint though.

It uses the Qt docker function for most of the important UI elements (Like color picker, overview, tools, undo history, etc) if you go to settings -> dockers you can add missing or remove unneeded UI elements. You can also go to settings -> configure toolbars to adjust the top toolbar, and you can toggle the status bar too, there's also an option to disable the scroll bars. You can put many UI elements (dockers) together into a tabbed window to avoid clutter (for example I keep overview and undo history in the same tab, color selector and tool options too) also in the options menu at canvas input settings you can adjust the keybinds for some mouse functionality and for modifier keys (for example move the damned color picker to ALT instead of CTRL so you don't accidentally color pick when you CTRL+Z)

Hey, I just downloaded the latest build from git to try out.
It has some nice features, but the interface is still pretty clunky. I'm spending a lot of my time figuring out how to get it to do what I want, where I'd rather be doing working. Also, how do you draw vertical/horizontal lines when you have the brush tool selected, or make straight vertical/horizontal selections?

If you've got the git build you should have that feature on V. It's not very polished yet though, but it does support transparency things.
And I agree that the interfacei s a bit clunky, but not because of design but because of excess icons (like in the upper left we have buttons like new document, undo, redo, and all that crap that should just go away, and we can remove them too, I have) and there are also the scrollbars. A setting I like to enable is multiple document mode: Subwindows.
It removes the tabs interface thing. There are also the scrollbars (these can also be disabled though) and as for the rest, I just customize it until it works out for me, the good thing about customization is that you only really have to do it once to be happy
