I feel your pain/pleasure. I like the escape that fandom provides from RL and I take a vacation to slashland daily. The natives are friendly so I come back for more.

True. I'v never meet such open-minded and tolerant people before. It's amazing. And fascinating. My friend even decided to write her MA thesis on slash. It's not that popular in Poland, IRL I met only one person who's a slasher (though in Anne Rice fandom), and very few slasher-trekkers on the web. We're quite close, almost a family.

You're right, k/sers are so very gentle with each other most of the time. I have commented with Herbata about her thesis and hope she can get it in English for those interested in such things. As I told her, I live in California, and there are several writers/zine publishers within driving distance of me and I have met a few, which I am very happy about. Everyone else I get to meet online! It is wonderful. :hugs:
