I understand about working infurating you sometimes...weird dichtomy doing what you love the most but doing it for a job sometimes, isn't it?
Yes, actually, most of my projects at the moment happen to BE in New Mexico. Just designed a house out there and am on a architectural team working on a large country club. Not doing much in the way of photography this year (or traveling) since I'm gearing up for my licensing exams. Kinda sucks putting down the camera but it'll be there when I'm done with the more prevalent stuff.
If you haven't been there already you'll both love New Mexico, it's gorgeous!

Thanks for your explanation! I personally love the bald-headed thing, it instantly reminded me of Natalie Portman in V for Vendetta (however cliche that comparison may be). You're lucky to have such a stunning model at hand...

I have similar issues with those I've grown up with...going home actually really depressing for me, because I've got very little in common with most of my old neighborhood friends - and like you said, it really comes down to priorities more than anything else. Leaves you a bit bittersweet and whimsical, but I think it also makes you appreciative of where you are, who you've been with, the times you've had and where you are now.
I'm doing okay. It's been a topsy turvy year and August was a major roller coaster ride. But, things are evening out and are on the upswing again. Basically my life is consumed with work, travel, studying for my licensing exams, and photography. Which is okay with me, I like it unexciting.

I know what you mean... I've had number of experiences where I began shooting a shy, mousy or timid model only to discover a stunningly photogenic and natural model. I've known actors who are much the same: shy, quiet, understated people who explode with power and presence on stage. Whether it's a person or not, I think, cameras reveal beauty that the eye all too often misses. But the more I shoot, the less beauty I miss on a daily basis, and the more beauty and natural elegance I appreciate.

So true, so true! Actually, the more I photograph, the more I appreciate the beauty in everything. What some may consider ugly, or fat, or grotesque....I can still find the beauty within it. People have difficulty looking beyond what is in front of them. In order to really appreciate and image, be it your own or anothers, you have to let go of preconcived notions and dig deep within it.

thanks Julie. really appreciate your comments a lot. You are maybe right about the bench but it is also possible that it can disturb the composition because the woman would be too much in the middle of the photo (vertical) and the way from her head to the pictures in the background is not far, don't know ... it's a pity that I can't test it because it isn't a crop and I didn't make more of this scene. Thanks again, have a nice evening

Life's been up and down, but mostly on the up and up. Busy as all get out, just basically hunkering down for my licensing exams, which will consume most of my life for the next year. Doing a lot of what I enjoy, and hanging out with people I enjoy.

Hey Miss Julie. Saw you on Kris's page, so I assumed you were back, and I'm glad to see it's true. Congrats on the way life is going for you right now. Was wondering where you were because I couldn't get the website of that outfit you were with to work. I hope everything is going well for you and I'm happy you're sharing your creativity here again.
