So I'm doing AP essays (psht,notreally) and I decided to finally look up those YellowCard songs. Prepare for a dissertation on each:
Down on my Head- I want to listen to this song when I'm in a funky, existential mood. Like on a bad day or something. The lyrics are kind of cynical and pessimistic, but the music is arranged in a way that makes me want to kind of embrace the cynicism and pessimism. Take it and make myself stronger from it. Idk, what do you feel like after listening to it? (Favorite line is "So line by line, I write this down and I'm just trying to find the end.")
Believe- Holy cow. Violin in the beginning is intense. 9/11 song? The lyrics are kinda blunt at some points, but ther're redeemed later. THe message, of course, is great. Another song that I would want to play on a bad day.
I also listened to Fighting. That's a nice one.

Yeah, that's my disfunctional kinda pessimism song for when I get up in the morning. I do get the kind of "yeah this sucks, but I really don't care right now." vibe from it, and it's pretty cool.
I didn't realize that till after I told you to check it out. The violin makes some of these songs epic (they actually have a legit violinist in the band that plays all of their songs too). The 9/11 bits kind of depressing, and the lyrics are definitely about that. its still pretty inspiring though.
Fightings pretty good too. I just listen to the 90+ youtube mix for yellowcard in the background. Some are more romantic than others (like Only One, and Breathing, but they're pretty good too). They did a cover of Everywhere, and It's pretty awesome- I like it better than the original. I could keep ranting but I'll just stop there.

So after doing some stalking, I found out a few things about JG Quintel:
1) He was an animator in Horton Hears a Who!
2) He did a LOT of work in Camp Lazlo.
3) He did a short sort of like 2 in the AM/PM called The Naive Man of Lolliland (Pops prototype).
4) He also voices High Five Ghost.
5) He had long hair, but then cut it, and now he's pretty much gorgeous.

I just found a Wikipedia page for National Forensics League. I'm laughing at most of the stuff on there. Did you know that there was an oath? It says that all members uphold integrity, humility, respect, leadership, and service. I know that most gentlemen in speech (and I'm guessing Debate) fail to uphold the humility part, and I know girls in speech who copy pieces and that pertains to the whole "integrity" thing. And did you know that PFD is formally known as Puff AND PoFo? Congress is also listed as StuCo. Oh, and according to Wikipedia, Poetry Interpretation (PO) and Prose Interpretation (PR) are only supplementary events. I WILL BE RECOGNIZED!
