I saw the movie preview for the City of Bones, so, being the book person that I am, I just had to read it before I even considered watching the movie. AND I LOVE THE FREAKING BOOK. I have to read the other books now XD

I'm going to see the movie but I have serious doubts it'll do the book any justice. I don't think they casted any of the characters right. Well, except for Magnus Bane.

Ehh, I just saw the movie. They cut out a vast majority of all the asshat witty things Jace says so the script is pretty bland. They change a lot from the book to the movie and cut out probably half the book. Also, I thought the guy who they got to play Magnus was perfect as far as looks go, but the actual actor's acting was lacking, so even that kind of sucked:/. Oh, and he's barely even in the movie. They cut out practically all of the party scene in the movie:/. And they also cut characters. Basically, if you compare the movie to the book, the movie sucked ass. But if you'd never read the book, or weren't judging it based on the book, it was pretty good. I mean, I enjoyed it even if it was completely butchered. AND THEY RUINED VALENTINE!!!!! Who I had pictured when reading about Valentine was NOTHING at ALL like the actor they got to play him and it made me really sad: (. Valentine is one of my favorite characters.

Ugh, that sucks. I loved Magnus Bane, especially the party scene.

Oh god no, I have a firm image of Valentine in my brain. If he doesn't look like anything like you pictured him to be, I doubt my mental image of Valentine will look anything like the actor they chose for his  character....

I know! They do keep some of his sayings in, but basically all of them were cut. I'm curious to see how they do the next movie, though. maybe they'll add more wit. Speaking of, though, how far into the series are you? (In case you didn't know, there are a total of six books. I think only the first five are out, though.) I've already read them all.

I know! He's in a lot of the next books though, so I'm both happy, and sad that they'll put him more into the next movies.

They completely fucked over Valentine's character. It makes me really fucking sad. How did you picture him?

I know that there are five books out, but I haven't had the time recently to read any of them. Knowing me though, I'll probably get them all from the library and finish them within a week. (It only took me a little less than two days to read City of Bones)

Why sad? Please tell me that didn't fuck up his character that horribly....

Ugh, that makes me mad. Describing him in words wouldn't do Valentine justice, so I might just end up posting a fanart of him sometime soon. Oh, and Hodge too.

They are definitely worth a read. I have all five on my nook and whenever I'm bored, I just go and read the entire series again. Word of warning though, you'll probably want to throw Jace off a cliff throughout the rest of the series. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love him and all, but he is a major prick. And I mean more so than he is in the first book. I've literally thrown my phone(which has a nook app on it) when I read certain parts of the next books. Especially the third book. And forth...And fifth....And second...Just every book.

Well, like I said, the guy they got to play him looks basically exactly as I pictured Magnus to be, but the guy's acting pretty much sucks, so it takes away from all of his magnificent glory.

You should, I'd love to see how you pictured them. Oh, they did do a somewhat decent job on casting Hodge, though. But then again, I just love that actor. I don't know if you've ever watched Sherlock with Benedict Cumberbatch, but the guy they got to play Hodge plays Mycroft in that show. (Or Moriarty in the Sherlock Holmes movies with Robert Downy Jr.)
