Β I'm so glad I inspired someone, hoho
I'm far from a pro at adoptbles (In fact, I just recently started selling them), but I can definitely tell you what I've learned!
First, research what is popular in the adoptable community! (I always look through the adoptables by searching by category: Deviantart Related, Devious fun, Adoptables. This will give you an idea of what people are enjoying!
Second, Start sketching! I usually sketch anywhere from 4-8 different adoptables in a batch, though I may not use all of them~
(From what I've seen, it seems batches tend to sell better than single adoptables.)Β
I was told once that large batches of smaller adopts are better to sell as set-price adopts, while it's better to sell bigger, more detailed adopts as auctions. So far, I'd have to agree!
Here's something really important: If you don't have a large fan base, you're not likely to sell your designs for high prices! I started my adopts at a lower price (and accepted either points or cash), and as I gain more followers and sell more adopts, I raise the prices slightly!
