wow that sounds really cool! i bet ur demo is gonna turn out awesome. must be relieved to know that u are almost done! (texturing is awesome)

im doing just fine. this year and next i am concentrating on putting a portfolio together, storyboarding, and working more with Maya. Luckily, there is a teacher at my school who's son is a fairly well-known animator and is willing to critique my work.

I love your 3d stuff what program are you using? Maya? Rhino? 3dstudiomax?

I have always had a problem making characters but i can make any landscape you want...It's annoying.

Sup man,

I use Maya for all 3D work so far. When I model characters I follow this book for head topology "Stop Staring" by Jason Osipa: [link] =p (Razz) d_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1235752691&sr=8-1

As for the body I design the character and import the drawings panels into Maya and go from there, using modeling taught at my school for animation. If you plan on animating your characters then there is a certain way lay down the topology so the character deforms properly in movement. I think this book has some good notes with rigging characters as well:

hey i talked to ringling theyre just waiting on my valencia transcript (which was mailed may 2nd so they may have it today) and my letter of reccomendation from downey who is taking forever. but they said the letter of reccomendation shouldnt hold me up too much and i should hear something within 2 weeks of them getting the vcc transcript....did you take oil painting with jay??

hey1 lol, well i'm glad that you're interested in it. But actually, it has been going VERY slowly. i have been soo buisy with school and stuff that i havent had time for it. So far, each of us has taped one leg each. it kinda sucks but thats it. but we do have a deadline of like march 17 or something because we plan on entering it in a contest so hopefully we can start working. i'll try to get some pics of us taping soon and eventually the finished sculpture. wish us luck!
