I just read a comment you made 5 years ago on an anti-war picture.
I'm- er, somewhat late, but I wanted to thank you. It's nice to know some aren't afraid to speak their minds- when they actually know what they are talking about.

Yeah, it stinks when you have a great idea then you discover that someone else had it first.

Dude, first of all, thanx for the comment on my Deviation TIME, and secondly I really dig your website.
There's just one question i gotta ask...U've got such a cool website and all and you've been a deviant since Jul 2002, why not share any of your work on this page? U don't have one deviation uploaded? You should be sharing your talent and not keep it just somewhere else.
Get devious dude!

Thank you so much for your comments on my darkwinter design.
You're right about the i-frames, I'm honestly not a huge fan of them myself... They're not made very obvious in any of my designs as a result, really. Reason I use them for the updates is due to using greymatter, and I feel the updates are both important enough to be displayed on the front page, and not important enough to warrent my dancing around the entire HTML coding to place in the required code for greymatter to work. Otherwise, i-frames are used on nearly every page of that design, I just worked it so none of the others would need to scroll.
And the photo I know isn't its greatest. Was just a lazy manipulation that I literally threw together in less than an hour. I've been sick this past couple of weeks and normally I wouldn't do any artistic work when I'm like this, but I've been bored out of my skull and wanted to see what I could come up with
And then your work is quite striking. Particuarily the "no one is pro-war" collage. That one strikes me the most since my finacee is currently somewhere out there in the desert apart of the army. I have to thank you for your sentiments.

Hey -- thanks for you comments AND feedback! Usually people are just like "it's cool" which leaves me wondering what exactly is cool about it. I replied a bit to your comments and gave a bit more detail on the topics you mentioned. Anyways, thanks.
Also, you're featured deviation of up there looks really sweet. Nice color and great crop.

Thanks for the comment
I don't think i'm overdoing it very much with the font. You have to realize that this particular site will house a lot of information, a lot of text in a different (standard) font. Quite possibly Arial, Tahoma or Verdana. Anyway, I think that it will be nicely balanced once it's "HTMLized".
Though good point.

Have you ever had a dream, that you were so sure was real? What if you were unable to wake from that dream? How would you know the difference between the dream world and the real world?
What you know you can't explain, but you feel it. You've felt it your entire deviant life, that there's something wrong with the story. You don't know what it is, but it's there, like a splinter in your mind, driving you mad.
You take the blue pill, the story ends. Your browser closes and you believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill, you stay in wonderland. And, I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.
I offer only the truth, nothing more.
Take: The Red Pill
Take: The Blue Pill
spyed, nobody has ever done this before.
I know. That's why it's going to work.

awww..thanks for saying hello on my page my pics aren't that great, just things i do for photo class but b&w always compliments things beyond the reality of the shot . I love shots with interesting angles and depth like that water tower one you have in your gallery. anyway i think it's cool that you do web design stuff, i want to get into illustration some day...well, something along the lines of media art. so yah, thanx again

thanx for the comment, you have very asute observational skills.
i dont usually do much by way of description, primarily because i dont like to lead the viewer, im interested in their perspective.i appreciate your honest critique, quite often people just say stuff to be nice and leave it at that.
the reason for lack of containment and or boundaries in that piece is just that...lack of containment, boundaries and borders are fading as global integration expands...and its in our faces wether we choose to look away or not.
i understand your point from a purley graphic view point, as a matter of expression i quite often do things a bit differently.
again thanx for droppin in, stop by anytime

You rule. You hit the nail on the head...that's the problem I'm having with the images and their vspace/hspace.
Unfortunately, Netscape 4.6 is used all over our campus (we must be taking up that entire 1%)...she hasn't noticed it because she uses IE and Netscape 6 on her laptop, but it's bound to come up and I want to fix it, even if it's a temporary issue.
Thank YOU!

Hey wow thanks for the kind comment and the fav on Citadel. Much appreciated. Heh. I love how you described part of it: "fractal looking photo light trail kinda thing". LOL. I used Ultra Fractal to make the image. Glad you liked it.

Thanks for your comments It's nice to have meaningful comments as well as the comments that simply say 'nice ' or something. I've just read your journal entry too, and thinking about it.
For myself, I like to get comments of both kinds. I also tend to post comments of both kinds. Sometimes, I'll see a picture that is just fantastic, and I will go and tell the artist so, because I think they deserve to know that it's great. I used to just leave notes saying 'fantastic shot' or whatever. Recently, I have started to try to take more time, to work out why it's so good, to leave something a bit more than just saying it's nice, because although it is nice to get those comments, makes me feel good, it's also nice to get comments that suggest how to improve things, so that you can try and do better work.
When it comes to returning comments, my first stop is here, the Deviant Comments, to say thanks . After that, it varies whether I look through the gallery or not.
I've said my say so Happy New Year, and have a great 2003

Happy New Year's Eve Greg!
it's all good my friend...the teddy icon from A.I. is but one of 3 I've been experimenting with. Teddy's my favorite character in the film....I like his sense of humor.
you zeroed right in on 20th Century Artifacts....that's precisely what it's about
thanks for your genuine honest comments... as those are the
most valuable to any endeavor creative or otherwise.
Maybe one of these days we'll meet up somewheres down the road...slice a lemon & enjoy a tall cold glass of deep south sweet tea & watch the clouds roll by & write a song or two.

Ooooh what I see is what I like! Wonderful work! Thanks for the comment you gave me on that star shot. As for tips to create a star streak shot... I can tell you what i've discovered.
1. Daylight film- I use 160 speed film for all of my night shots, it gives me a good color, very little grain, and allows me to leave the shutter open longer usually *sometimes its really easy to over expose in low light situations even with this film so I bracket bracket bracket (i.e. expose for 1/4 of a second, then 1/2 second, then 1, 2,and 4 seconds) * At the longer exposures you start to notice the reciprocity effect of the film... the film doesn't act the same and starts to lose its sensitivity to light exponentially.
2. Even though I said bracket... for star streaks bracketing won't make any difference in film density due to the long exposures involved, so you must rely totally on nature. My exposure was for an hour, which was plenty long enough to make long streaks for my shot, but i've seen exposures for as long as 6 hours done. Just make sure the moon doesn't come up and you are far away from any city lights or light source.
3. "Silver halides are sensitive to THOUGHT!" Think positive! there is always plenty of room for error for night shots, shoot a lot of film and something will come out.
Thats about all I can think of, except for a STURDY tripod and some positive thoughts, go out and have fun!
