Being a soldier is tough, so hang on out there and keep drawing whenever you can - all you need to fulfil your dream is practice and a bit of technical knowledge - so, if possible, try to read some books on drawing and stuff.
Anyways, always feel free to ask anything when drawing - I'll try to give a piece of advice or make an overpaint.
Just hold on to your dream!

I'd say you'll find getting on any style way easier if you look into realistic drawing first. But first thing is fun and interest - listen to yourself and draw in the way you get more of them 8)

I'm sure they are, what with me being a POG for the first 4 years of my army career. 19-D Cav Scout is also something I'm looking at, being attached to a cav unit and all.

I was attached to a Cav Scout Unit and my infantry platoon was treated like the red-headed step-child. When we got back to our company we were then treated like the estranged, unwanted child. Shit went from suck-ass to what-the-fuck.

That's how it is for us, too, since we're a Cavalry squadron in an infantry brigade, in the 1st Infantry Division. Our infantry guys seem to fit in well, though.
