Hi, sorry for the late!
Yup, there are a lot of quakes lately and some city had historical buildings collapsed and dead people too. Don't worry about me, I live in a the northern part of Italy where there are low chances of big quakes, most of them are in the central part of the country.

That's how people outside this "amazing world" still see us. We're so blessed. XD
You've never been in Italy, have you? We're actually going to collapse. Exactly because of this ancient world.
Remember L'Aquila a couple of years ago? It was striken by a single 5.9 Richter scale quake. It was entirely destroyed.
Look at this map [link] and select Min. Magnitude: 6.. There are 65 quakes since 4 months ago and they don't even have a single house destroyed by that. (all of the destruction came from the tsunami)
They've repaired a 800Km long freeway in one week and we still have the whole city not habitable after 2 years..
I could give you much more examples but we're lucky that there's still people in the world who thinks we are a beautiful country..
(for sure we also have beautiful things but not as much as the world expects from us XD)

My God... this wasn't even covered in the news. I only heard about mount Vesuvius possibly erupting in 5 years because of all the quakes. But then I thought ' when did Italy have a quake? '

Its the same for me here, tourists come expecting to see magic carpets, belly dancers, and exotic temples.

Yes, Vesuvius is pretty dangerous but Naples is living in terrible conditions also without the volcano.
It's about 3 years that the city is filled with trash. Berlusconi tried to do something but after 1-2 months the city was filled again. That's mostly because there's no collection of the rubbish. Rats and diseases are the owners of the city but all our politicians can do is trying to make laws for not Berlusconi be arrested for the about 12-13 charges against him.
It's like that for about 4-5 years..
