Yeah, but like anything it comes with experience. The more you work on modelling the better and more efficient you'll be.
However, I'm more of a texturing person now, since you can create something that has really simple and clean geometry, but the texturing is what really brings it to life. Check out my tumblr if you want to see some of my more recent work!
