I should have read your Journal first before commenting Anyways, your corsets are amazing, much better than pretty much anything I've ever seen online, and I bet most of those shops aren't self-taught or go without patterns

Thank you very much. I think my corsets have some flaws that could be fixed later with some experience, but I consider myself quite good for a selftaught corsetmaker .

Saw your corsets on Artisan Crafts- great work, especially for being self-taught! I've only made a couple for my lady- and I know how hard they are to do well! Maybe you could make money doing them for folks, if you desired. Sewing for other people is a pain, however...

I also took a look at your other art- nicely done!

You should pop over to LOTRO- Lord of the Rings Online, sometime- check Landroval server (It's one of the friendliest, overall- lots of Tolkien lore fans on it, too~) (www.lotro.com). I love running around looking at places they've made. Not all exactly like Tolkien, but much of it is very, very good.

thanks...they are hard to make, indeed, but also fun...I tried making money from it, but so far, nothing happened. People say they want one, we decide which material, I buy the fabric, and then they decide that they do not want one, or that they do not have money... my prices are extremely low for a corset, and yet everyone wants to pay even less money for it, blaaah...so I gave up with that.

Never start a project without a deposit- like 50%, and also make sure they know that the materials cost is non-refundable.

It's hard to make a business work, sometimes- especially as we often think our work is not "valuable"- but it is! You can NEVER get more time! What you have is worth it, so, charge accordingly. My friend here makes wonderful corsets- and a long body, over-bust type in a basic fabric runs about $300. If you want more fancy fabric, other features- whatever- it's a charged thing!

And once again- it does take a while. Maybe start an ETSY shop and make some simple ones in a set of "average" sizes to sell. Sell cheap, to get going and get reviews- then increase the price a bit. Also ask a bit more for custom orders. It's what I did for my knives and such- and I've done well!

Very welcome- I just like the idea of people with great talents making money doing what their talent is- and making some money, if possible! You are doing a GREAT job, and ought to be able to make a little, and do it while having the fun of making something someone will love and gain happiness from!
