It's true that the photo itself isn't exactly...well, don't take this to heart but it's not exactly the most impressive...
but the concept and the visual way its presented is something I find irresistable. =]

I dont completely agree w/ that. of course, its a whole lot easier to snap a picture than it is to paint a painting. What makes photography different than more tradditional arts (i.e. painting, drawing, sculpting) is that your medium is light. Its not something you can touch and feel, its stictly on a visual basis. As with all art and in human natures quest to represent beauty, there are compositional tools to guide us. The diffence between "making" and "taking" good pictures is the difference, at least for me, to it being an impressive art and a tool of imagery.

Yes, I understand, and that's why the composition of that particular piece strikes me as attractive. The contrast of the bright white lighting on dark skin and the position he's standing in is really quite intriguing.
At least, to me it is.
