why does someone have to be an artist in order to like your artwork?  That doesn't make any sense and smacks a bit of ingratitude.  Shouldn't you be grateful that someone likes your artwork, regardless of whether or not they are capable of producing their own?

I'm not grateful to silent favers! My viewing point: If you want to be on dA, you MUST upload your own works... Silent favers, people who do nothing but favorite art from other people, are NOT welcome in my eyes... This is a site for artists and writers...

Since there's even a guy who has done NOTHING but faving artwork from others for over five YEARS now, I can't be!

If you start on dA, you should upload your first artwork (or story) within an hour!

I know of no such established rule on deviantart that someone HAS to upload ANY artwork, let alone within 1 hour of joining.  You spoke to that person in a manner that would not cause them to correct any sort of error, you spoke to them in a manner that would ONLY make them ANGRY with you and make them think you are a crazy person because your reaction was completely inappropriate and disproportionate to the situation!  You are abusing the threat of blocking; that feature's not for punishing non-artists who favorite your work and who are doing nothing wrong!   Why should anybody be expected to read your mind and know ahead of time whatever spurious rule you made up in your own head about uploading to deviantart?!  You were inexcusably mean, nasty, and rude to a complete stranger, ruined their entire day, and for what?  What GOOD did you think you were doing when you spoke to that person in that way?  Who are you to say when or if people should upload artwork?  Are you the king of Deviantart?!  What if their scanner broke or their camera broke and they can't afford to replace it?  The person's only been on DA for 2 weeks, ffs!  You shouldn't be acting like this.  It's detrimental to the community, detrimental to DA, and detrimental to YOU, and says a lot about you that isn't nice.  Why did you imagine this imaginary rule in your own head?  It doesn't do you any good.  It is not for you to decide what people on Deviantart that are harming NOBODY should be doing or uploading.

19 year old kids from the Netherlands shouldn't be so dogmatic and rigid.  Isn't Holland supposed to be really tolerant and liberal?  People are going to start thinking negative stereotypes about European people from you!  People are going to start to think you are not a nice person.  You should have done like EVERY OTHER PERSON on Deviantart does, and just thanked them for their favoriting and moved on.  Whether or not they upload art is not your concern, and it's NOT up to you to "clean up" deviantart of non-artists.

I hate silent favers... They don't bring any initiative... For me, they're the same thing as people on Facebook who only like other people's sutff, without having any pictures or posts themselves! It makes me sick!
