I've looked through your gallery, and I've noticed that you do mostly recolors. While I've never been a huge supporter of recolors, may I suggest you dabble?
Try coming up with your own species, then draw a base and offer your own exclusive adoptables. That has the potential to bring in more points, because anyone can do a recolor, but only you will be able to offer that particular kind of adopt.
Play around with shading! Your gallery consists mostly of bases filled in with flat colors. Try cell shading, color gradations, or adding texture. The list of things you can try is endless.
Not confident in your drawing skills? Practice! Look at other people's artwork! Look up drawing tutorials! That's the only way you can improve. If you get frustrated, take a break and try something else. Sculpting, poetry, painting, anything will do. It can be a splat on a canvas, but it's still something new.
Just thought I'd give some advice. There are other artists out there who are a lot harsher and will call you out for tracing and recolors.
