I didn't even know GMIT existed until this year and I wish I could afford to go there Lots of friends there. If you're just finished first year I think I know someone who was in your course!
BCFE is great, I done the illustration course which leads on to a Higher National Diploma after 2 years of study. Loved it, didn't want to leave! Are you planning on applying there next year?

I'm glad I came to Galway, the course and college were not for me at all, but it was worth it just for the year, the city, and friends etc Small place, probably know some of the same people! :L ,.May I ask that persons name? might know them! :3 ,.Awesome, Yush I plan on applying there come the next cao :3 ,think a HND in something I want to do will benefit me more than a degree in fine art, which is a bit silly tbh. Either way, I am jealous Her name's Rebecca Carmichael, do you know her? I know a few in sculpture.. Yannick, Michael (Dutch guy), Fionan Crowe, Mick Cleere. A lad called Ronan in.. Multimedia? A guy in a fine-art or painting course called Matthew Whelan. A girl from Cootehill called Blaithin Hughes (funny, because I've never spoken to her in my life yet I know she's there.. haha). Lots more people!
Ah, you don't need to apply to BCFE through the CAO You literally just apply for the course through their website (or written application via the prospectus) and just wait for them to send you an interview date! I'm pretty sure they interview everyone who applies, as long as they applied on time. You'll definitely be getting a tutor called Mags to interview you (alongside another tutor for one of the modules). No need to worry because all the tutors for illustration are absolutely dead-on. I would say apply for Graphic Design as well as illustration.. at least if you don't get one, you may get the other (and graphic design has an illustration module in it).
It's more how you use your qualification rather than the fact of having it!

Haha, ironically she's the only one I don't know personally She's from my hometown but that's only where I know her from.
I'll be in BCFE on Thursday so I could try and find out when the applications open again. The first round of interviews are usually around March/April so you'll be a while waiting!
If you get Graphic Design this is the sort of stuff you'd be doing: [link]
And with illustration you'd get to do your own style (the tutors greatly encourage it) and some fine art-y stuff, sculpture, print, computers (Photoshop and Illustrator) and some business stuff which is handy.
Yep, completely finished the course and graduating in November. Miss the college so much already!

I dont know any of those people other than Blaithin Hughes, she was in my class alright, lives nearby actually, nice girl! ,.Oh yeah I forgots :3 ,.the applications for illustration are closed for now though, so I'll have to wait til the next time they are taking them. I'll probably take you advice and apply for Graphic Design too For now, it shall be a year of social welfare and selling artwork hopefully Are you finished the course now or? We'll be in room 22 in the prefab from 10-12pm (the head of illustration will be tutoring us so she's there if you have any questions). We'll be hovering about for lunchtime from 12-1pm and in the graphics room upstairs from 1-4pm (:
Your best bet is 10-12pm in room 22 though, easier to gather us all in one group and it's a better atmosphere.

Hello! If you're hoping to an obsessed extent to get into Illustration then you will! My friend done ADM last year and she's in first year Illustration now. For the interview you really just have to fill their requirements (what they want to see; life drawing, still life, good use of tone and colour, mixed media, etc) which you'll be doing in ADM anyway By any chance do you know a guy called Eoin in ADM?
