Description So, I've been reworking my sketch of 2015 Gali for a while now. Each time, I've tried to tinker with some details, reimagining the set further and further from the original. So far, I've been fairly pleased with my progress, but she's not quite done yet. As I've been drawing this, this deviation has been stuck in my head. "'...If the Great Beings see fit to restore my energies, I may one day show you what true power is.' And then she proceeded to blow up Karzahni!" Gali is so much cooler than we give her credit for.

The first comes from this Deviation from a while ago. It was my first impressions of the set from the preliminary images, and I'm not all that happy with it any more. I still thought they were the Toa Nuva and decided to slip a Nuva symbol in there.

The second is far more fluid and I decided to have a bit of fun with it. Her mask got reworked significantly, and her chest pattern became a tribal, feathery sort of shoulder pad. I took some inspiration from artists like BZP's Roly (where I took the cloth idea from) and MrBFox's amazing depiction. Still, it turned out really messy and I wasn't completely happy with it. The axe looks pretty cool though, I think, though I'm still deciding on how to do the fins on the bottom.

The third was just a tiny sketch I made in the margin of my school notes with an idea for her mask. The Mask of Water does have a decent design, but it does leave much to be desired. I decided to mimic some of those feathery designs in her mask, though it ended up looking closer to a spiny sea horse or lion fish. Which I totally approve of. Her armor also received some minor updates. All this time, that gunmetal on her set has looked like some sort of rubber diving suit, so I took that a step further.

You know when you draw something perfectly, and then you try to do it again, and all the angles and lines come out all wrong and it looks awful? Yeah, that's what happened with the fourth version. I tried to copy the mask design of the third edition with some of the body design of the second, and I'm not happy with how it turned out. So I'm still working on it.

So... that's what I've been up to, I suppose. Let me know what you think.

I like the Nuva symbol on the shoulder armor, a nice touch that brings Gens 1 and 2 together!

The skirt design really goes with the character, but I'm not sure of the prominent six-pack sort of design she has in the last three drawings.  I must say I can relate to you about trying to draw things again - I can only do it once! But, all in all, it is your choice in what to do.

The stomach supposed to resemble layered armor plating, but I see what you mean. Thanks!

Interesting! I actually think I like the simplicity of the first design most, though. Some of the details of the other ones make them feel a bit too busy for my liking. But #2 has a great pose, and its version of her mask is probably my favorite.
