1954 Ford F-100 pickup. I had it down as a '56 But I've been corrected, thankfully.For all the noise about new models, the venerable F-series pickup truck is probably Ford's most successful product. In continuous production for more than half a century now, and in its 12th generation. I'm not an industry analyst, but if that's not success I don't know what is. This beauty is 2nd generation and is still haulin' it.

Me too - though I'm likely a lot closer to this than you are. Besides, pickups back then were what the farmers and gas station people drove around in. I don't understand it, but pickups didn't become cool until the 70s for the most part. I spent a few summers on a farm as a boy, and I've been in love with haulers from that time. Before the um... 70s.

Great shot, but that's not a 56, it's a 54, 56 as a wrap around windshield and different grill...

Thanks for the heads-up. There was no showboard, and no owner in sight (the usual). I was down to using the info on the little tag hanging from the mirror that might have been an air freshener... I knew it was 2nd generation, but I've seen a lot of grille styles between the Fords and the equivalent Merc trucks.

It can be hard to keep track for sure, I deal in them everyday so I have learned by immersion since young!
I love post images of Mercury trucks being as they are Canadian only trucks, I have a few in real life too!

Them you're very fortunate! I've only seen a couple of the old Merc trucks, a couple of panel trucks and I think one pickup.
