Description This is an example how an independent South Brazil could look like, there are some seperatist groups down there but they are not that widespread.
South Brazils population descend mostly from european settlers (78,65% white), not only the portuguese but also the germans and italians (which form today notable minorities).
Further it has a relatively high standard of living, with the highest HDI in modern Brazil, 0.859 (2007), and the second highest per capita income of the country, $13.396, behind only the Southeast Region.

I suppose it's full of weird tea cups, boots, cowboys without guns, and barbecues. Great map! I really wish there were more brazilian-oriented AH maps in the AH community...

Ve(ry) nice!
The "Italian" community in Southern Brazil isn't really composed by Italian, but by Venetian... They speak "Talian", that it's a dialect of Venetian Language (not be confused with Italian, "false friends" grammatically spell...). Since last year, is an official Language of Brazil.
Nice work btw

I know about Talian/Venetian... let's say it's a recognised regional language down there

Not only Venetians emmigrated to southern Brazil, but also Lombardians, Trentines, Emilians, etc.

Talian is not an official language of Brazil, but only of Serafina Correa, a town with less that 15,000 inhabitants. In Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul, it's considered a cultural heritage, but it's a rather symbolic denomination.

I know this, but, AFAIK, last year I've read news About an increase of governmental official  recognition.

I don't have info about it. Actually, the number of bilingual cities is actually pretty small, less than 1% of total.

I know... at the time you made your map about the Germans down there, I got the idea of making a map of an independent German south Brazil. There are apparently some Germans down there who want to secede just search on YouTube there are enough videos about it.
But it's quite hard to unite all German areas down there, so we have here a European dominated south Brazil ^^

Your works are amazing but I probably told you that a year ago or so, and your contributions to this art community are actually one reason why I joined deviantart

No problem^^
When I think about my maps, I never see them as that epic. Yeah they take a huge amount of time and so, but then I look on deviantart and see other maps which are way better than mine so it's a kinda awkward feeling that you're praising my little map about south Brazil in such a way :3
I will do new maps etc. When I find the time to do them, I've got a lot of ideas^^

Nope, they represent the regions from north to south: Parana, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul

There really are separatist groups there, as well groups in Sao Paulo state that wish SP become an independent country.
SP is to Brazil like California or Texas are to USA.
