Description Thanks so much for the views/favs/comments on ALL of the scenic wallpapers I have submitted over the last few weeks. I truly appreciate it! Braving the cold comes with the territory.....no pain....no gain!

One of two deep woodland snow scene wallpapers today.....taken in different winter months. It’s amazing, but the colors displayed in the snow and trees are never the same on any given day! It seems the colder it is, the more the atmosphere seems to produce the icy blue hues and the pink alpinglow, depending on the cloud cover and the angle at which the sun sets.....and of course time of day.

Hope you enjoy a bit of winter scenery from the Great North Land! Thanks for looking and all the very best for a blessed and Happy New Year!

Taken with my Cannon A-720 IS and available light.

Due to severe Carpal Tunnel I am not able to do very many comments – please accept my apologies.....and my thanks here. So just remember......if I fav your work, with no comments.....I LOVE it!! My thanks in advance for your views, favs and comments.....they are all very much appreciated!

And please remember......all of us as artists here at DA put in long hours of work to create our art. Have the kindness to request permission to use our work. ALL work here is copyright by me. These photos are NOT STOCK ART.....they are NOT FREE and they are NOT IN THE PUBLIC DOMAIN.....They CANNOT BE POSTED ON ANY OTHER SITE FOR VIEWING OR DOWNLOAD

Hugzzzzzzzzzzz to ALL ............

I like the deep blue color of the water in both images, Anita. It looks so appealing and charming. Wish we had pure water like that around here!

Beautiful!! It is supposed to get down to 13 here tonight. Since cold air is so much heavier that warm air, I think it must push a lot of impurities out of the air. The stars are always so much brighter in the winter.

Thanks so much Ginny! Yes.....I heard from my sister in N.C. that it was going to get really cold back there!! Temperatures in air layers do make a very big difference in the levels of pollution and you are right about cold air being "heavier"! We have so little pollution here that there's not as much of a difference, but the stars are....much brighter in the winter.....partly too because in our longest days in the summer....it never gets fully dark!!

The water in both the pictures amazes me as to how deep the color blue is. I do understand why people want to move south as they age to avoid inclement weather, but then I view photographs such as yours and think how much I would miss seeing such beautiful scenes of snow

Thanks so much for your wonderful comment!. It takes very critical atmospheric conditions to turn the water (and snow/buildings) shades of blue or pink. I havent quite got it all figured out yet, but it happens more often...the colder it gets! Well....I have to tell you.....I'm 68 (and yes my DA ID is very recent) and I have NO intention of leaving here! It's just too beautiful! I dress very warmly for the cold, and actually find it quite invigorating, and then after coming inside......very relaxing! Better than any pill you could take!! Thanks for all your support!!

You most certainly do not look 68!! I didn't even think you were my age (57)!! I am so glad to see deviants that are part of an older crowd. To me there is no excuse to not be able to learn to use a computer. I have a few ludite brothers and a sister that refuse to use computers at all... at least my brothers will use a cell phone. My sister won't; however, I digress: the blue in the water is simply breathtaking. If you can ever get a picture where it is pink I would love to see it! I probably won't move either, albeit there are times I wish I could at least take off for a few weeks and go south during the winter.
