Shattered III (center panel) pencil drawingDrawing on hotpress wc board
I have changed my concept or simplified its presentation. It will work more like a classical triptych; large center drawing and two somewhat “mirrored” images on each side. I posted the left side a month ago one of the pair of “smashed” bulbs. (see gallery) The wires of these bulbs point out from the center image, which is larger and has a stabilizing effect. The outside images are 8” x 8” the center drawing is 8” x 16” I will post the whole triptych as soon as I can get a good shot of it together. In a very lose and abstract way it speaks to the biblical crucifixion.

the person feels like .. the next moment the remaining bit of ribbon will tear off and there goes the bulb "SHATTERED" into million pieces...

It’s the stone that breaks the bulb, God, the grim reaper, the end about to come. The tiny part of the ribbon is about to give, to end the energy the bulb has to offer, life.

...i....uh....whoa...thats a drawing? well, i started chuckling immediately when i browsed across this little gem... i am not a chuckler. all i can say apart from that is...radtacular (i know made up contractions can get to be a bit much but so is this freakin great piece, understated and beset on all sides with superb)

awesome! it's so inspiring to see that this is a traditional piece. such talent just emulates itself from this piece. the way you have shown glass in all its clear glory is so beautiful. the concept of this piece is great as well and makes me wonder what the piece would have looked like if you drew it as the rock feel and shattered the bulb. it would be like a frame in still life. either way, fantastic work! these sort of pieces are very inspiring. :)
