Laura found it hard to hold back her excitement as the crowd cheered at the end of the film, the
premiere had been a huge success, and one of the studio executives had even made mention that there
would be big news following the screening for the media involving her. She could only imagine they were going to use this event to begin promoting her next role, which she had signed on for near the end of
this movie wrapping. After all, she did start work on that one tomorrow, a pretty quick turnaround even
by her usually hectic standards.
She couldn’t believe it had taken so many years, so many auditions to finally land a starring role, and
now she was already about to start another one. The premise was a bit unusual, as was the contract she
had signed onto to get the role. She would be portraying a young single mare, freshly moved to a new farm as she tried to get used to her new living environment and neighbors. It had the sound of a rom-com, only with animals, and so quickly suggesting that it would be a series of movies seemed a bit ambitious out of the gate, especially for what was a fairly new studio.
She was a bit nervous about it, she had never done voice acting work before, and was hoping she
wouldn’t fall between the cracks once again. She had spent so much effort to get in front of the camera,
for her to get sent to a recording booth right after felt like a bit of a downgrade. But she couldn’t really
argue with the studio, especially when they offered her a multipicture deal. So what if she was going to
be portraying something as odd as a horse? A lot of famous stars had voiced animals and made their way
back onto the silver screen.
Her thoughts drifted back and forth between the screening she had just sat through, finishing with a
round of applause, and her new role she would be starting in the morning, until a producer called her
back out to the red carpet, along with a handful of photographers and reporters. She rushed up to the
entrance of the theater, then out to the velvet-colored path outside, where a few people were once
again taking pictures of her. That’s when the producer waved her over to an interviewer, causing her to rush over as he introduced her.
“And this is our star, Laura Bowers,” he said with a smile to her, and then the camera, “She’s going to
make quite a name for herself, we can already tell. I wanted to make sure there was a fair amount of
proof of this happening, so, here you go, the star of the upcoming film, and the first ever ‘classically
trained mare’, our girl, Laura! Now, make sure you keep the camera rolling for the whole thing, this is
going o give us a ton of publicity.”
The cameraman shifted his focus from the producer to Laura, a confused expression on her face when
she asked, “Umm, what do you mean by classically traaeeigh-?”
Laura was cut off as her lips suddenly swelled, an involuntary sound escaping her mouth as they vibrated against each other. Her eyes went wide as she brought a hand up to feel them, worried she had had some kind of allergic reaction to the drinks she had been drinking with the producer before the
screening, only to notice her fingernails. The well-manicured nails, painted with a tasteful clear coat, had gotten darker. Not only that, they appeared to be expanding, her cuticles being covered up by the dark
keratin as it engulfed her fingertips.
“Fascinating,” the interviewer said as if she was more curious than concerned by Laura’s sudden
changes, “Are you getting this Mark? And Laura, what made you decide to go this in-depth for a role?”
Laura didn’t reply to the question, she was too concerned by the fact that she was finding it harder and harder to flex her fingers now, while the dark mass of her nails now covered the whole of her fingertips.
She was also beginning to feel a tightness in her shoes, her feet feeling like they were swelling in her
tasteful flats. It felt like the shoes were cutting off the circulation to her toes, the fabric squeezing her
usually dainty feet until she finally felt relief, coinciding with a tearing sound as her feet broke free of their confines.
“I’ll answer for her, if you don’t mind,” the producer said, drawing the interviewer’s attention away from
the actress, who’s panic was now fully starting to become visible in her face, “Laura was so great on the production of Whispers, as you just saw, and she got along great with the animals while working on her
role as a young veterinarian. So, we thought she would be the perfect candidate for our new film series as the lead, a young mare looking to fit in, and maybe find some romance at a new farm. We were glad when she agreed, quicky signing on for a multi-film deal, and we’re excited to see her in the role.”
Laura couldn’t believe what she was hearing. Sure, she agreed to the role, but it was supposed to be a
voice acting one, she was sure of it…or at least she assumed. None of that explained…was that what was
happening…her mind was rushing as it tried to figure out how this was possible, not even worrying at
the moment about the fact that her dress was getting tighter and tighter around her, the blue, slim-
fitting outfit not meant to hold her body as it began to expand, muscles growing in her legs and arms
while her firm butt put on several pounds. It wasn’t until she noticed her typically petite nose entering
her field of vision that she snapped out of her stupor.
Trying to look down at it, she saw that her nose was not only stretching out further from the rest of her
face, but also getting wider. Her nostrils flared with each heavy breath she took, hardly believing that she
could be turning into a horse as she watched her nose and mouth grow out into a long muzzle. Soon she found that she could no longer focus on even the tip of her growing snout as the bridge of her nose
started to grow wider and up her forehead, forcing her eyes further apart and changing her field of
vision, until they were on either side of her head.
Her neck began to tense up, the growing weight of her head causing it to bulk up with muscle
considerably, while also growing longer, making her instantly a few inches taller. However, with her head
and neck growing larger, her shifting center of gravity began to make her feel top-heavy. The change in her weight distribution, combined with her feet, which had by now each fused into a solitary, solid mass, caused Laura to lose balance. A loud clop could be heard as what had been her hands landed on the ground, the red carpet doing little to muffle the impact of her new front hooves on the sidewalk below.
As soon as she hit the ground, her back let out an audible cracking sound as her spine adjusted to her
increasing weight, arching as it locked the young woman into a quadrupedal stance more fitting to
Laura’s new form. Her body continued to quickly change from there, as if sensing it was now in the
proper position. Her torso began bulking up, her flat stomach barreling out as her dress became tighter
and tighter. Suddenly, something began trying to force its way out, a tightness in her lower back finally
relieved when a tail sprouted from the base of her spine. The tail was quickly sprouting long, red hairs,
the same color as the hairs atop her head, while it caused her dress to roll back, fully exposing her
panties to the flashing cameras around her…
