Description "I am a pilot too. I will fight alongside the Gundam"

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Presenting my fifth submission for the Ladies of Gundam project, a project that will feature a series of portraits of female characters from the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise...

This is my realism rendition of Fa Yuiry, one of the female leads of Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam. To be honest, I had a hard time making a realism rendition of her. I do like painting her hair still, it's so vintage 80's. I put the A.E.U.G. (Anti-Earth Union Group) logo on her uniform, which is not in the original character design, just for kicks. I hope you like this rendition.

This is a composed and slightly serious Fa, it seems like her ZZ period. I do like your take on her rather classic pageboy, and the AEUG logo looks good.

You are completely spot on there... To be honest, I like Fa more in the ZZ season... I don't mean to be a jerk but Fa in the Zeta series caused nothing but problems. In ZZ, Fa played a much bigger role.

You can tell, the AEUG logo isn't originally part of her uniform in the manga and anime. I just put it there just to make her look less plain. I also planned on putting Fa's last name embroidered at the uniform but I realized that's already overdoing it.

The way Fa acted without regards for zero-gee maneuvers, you could have put the AEUG logo on her pantsu.

Fa's decision to go after Camille's attention instead of sitting around waiting for it like a good little waifu always seemed like the real decision by a "childhood friend" instead of giving in to Camille's lack of attention. I suppose Camille was a little more outgoing than Amuro, which made her more persistent than Frau Bow. The movies softened her image some by skipping over Rosamia, and making sure Four died at the end of her first plot arc. Amaxzing what a lack of Newtype girls can do for a relationship! Poor Henken-taichou still didn't get a break though.

The way I see it, the way Fa acted in the first episode of Zeta is excusable. Fa is raised by good parents and seeing as how she and Kamille are childhood friends, Fa wants to share the same love and comfort that Kamille wasn't provided by his parents even to the point of being a persistent not-so-girlfriend. I like her for that.

The only problem I have with Fa in the Zeta series is that, while she may have proper mobile suit training, she was not providing so much support in the battlefield. In fact she's more of a liability and always ends up getting herself saved. Moreover, she's reckless and immature. Thus, getting slapped by Emma twice.

This is why I like Fa in the ZZ series more. Fa retains her caring nature towards Kamille even when he's mentally crippled. At the same time, providing household and medical help inside the Argama. She earned Kamille's heart the best way possible... staying by his side. Fa also became more mature and uptight in ZZ. Especially towards the new Argama crew.

It's really unfortunate that not so many people know who these characters are. Which includes the aforementioned Amuro Ray, Kamille Bidan, Rosmia Badam, Four Murasame, Frau Bow, Emma Sheen and Henken Bekkener.

looks fantastic! Such a great caring character. Who knows what would have happened to Kamille after his last battle if she wasn't there

Thanks... I'm glad somebody still remembers the old series.

Fa is indeed a caring character. Technically, the only reason why Fa is even alive is because she was saved a couple of times in battle by Quattro Bajeena, Emma Sheen and by Kamille Bidan himself. Not to mention, at the final battle, Apolly Bay died as he saved Fa's life. Needless to say, Kamille would've died inside the broken husk of the Zeta Gundam if Fa was nowhere around to bring him back to the Argama.

Nice job.  These characters (from the Zeta Gundam series) don't get enough attention these days.  They were among the reasons that I got into anime in the 1980s.

Thank you...

I'm a 80's anime kid, myself. I grew up appreciating oldies anime, which includes the Gundam series of the Showa era... I paint portraits of these ladies, not only to give tribute to them, but to re-introduce the old series to a much younger generation.
