Description I recently purchased PaintShop Pro Ultimate that came with FaceFilter Studio 2.0. Of course, my curiosity about FaceFilter demanded a bit of experimentation.

My pleasure. I was looking at your karaoke girl and got side tracked by this one in the 'also by' column. Who needs MD eh? for gorgeous girls like this

LOL ... thanks for the nice comment dyla-z. Β Now I feel much better about not purchasing MD3. Β I suppose the girls in my renders will always find alternative ways to stay warm. Β  Β

Okay, okay, Yes, this is beautiful, amazing, and whatever.

But no one is commenting on the lighting on her left ear? I mean, yes, it was a test, but so, is that not bothering anyone but me?

2Loose2Trek In reply to LadyQuindecim [2013-04-10 14:33:29 +0000 UTC]

Thank you for your observant comment LQ.

The light set used in this image was extracted from the Poser version 6 interior light probe using this ancient method: [link] The resulting image has two primary lights -- one strong light on the left and a weaker source from slightly behind. I think that may explain the slightly lit ear.

BTW, I've archived HDRshop and the python scripts if you're interested in trying this. As the scripts won't run in Poser versions after 8, I do my initial setup in version 8 and then open in Poser Pro 2012 for the render. It's really a lot of fun.

Okay, cool. I mean, really. Thanks for taking the time to share that, but the thing that really stands out is where the light hits the ridges. It seems like the source would have to be anatomically improbable. I see this a lot, particularly with mouths and ears, and somewhat around the eyes. Her mouth looks great, though, as do her eyes.

I mean, just looking at the outermost ridge - even with the narrowest angle with her face, how is the outside, front-facing dark while the fold it lit? To me, it looks logically reversed.

I am just curious because I see this sort of thing so much on so many really, really good images.
