The new Crown Prince's speech was nothing unexpected - it had clearly been written for him, and contained little other than patriotic platitudes and statements of his desire to do his people justice. Still, no-one had really thought the content would be much else; it was enough for most observers simply to see him show his face after being an obscure figure for so long, and that he seemed to deal with the speaking itself reasonably well - of course his father and caretakers would direct him seeing as he was so young.

The rest of the occasion was entertainment enough, in any case. As promised, the displays of the Army, Navy and Air Force were spectacular in a way that hadn't been done in recent years. The dreadnought and aerial fighter shows in particular wowed the many gathered in the capital. In many ways, it was a celebration of the military more than a celebration of the prince.

...and one of these days I'll find the time to do really involved pictures again But in any case, sort of conclusion to the birthday celebrations, if you can call it that X)
