some people were being a little too Protestant and the French monarchy brought them back to the true faith

Impossible. Any invasion of Belgium would have started a war.

A more aggressive French, Austrian and Spanish intervention to stabilize Mexico

US later came in and helped the monarchy put down a rebellion and in return they got a few puppet states

Really is just for boasting Austria-Hungary had a chunk of it to but sold it to Britain there might be a few thousand people living there but not more than 5000

Just some European powers getting a little cocky

Miyazaki said The film/story took place in the 1960s is set in an idealised trouble-free northern Europe in a alternative universe in which both World Wars never took place.

That would seem rather more tense.

It would tension throughout the world were high in the 1914 in our world which spilled into war

but take into account these empires did not go through the Napoleonic wars which spared millions no French Revolution so the holy alliance between Spain and France would still be there

The United Kingdom would probably be enjoying a splendid neutrality

The Austrian Empire would have had time to make a colonial empire

Italy would probably have gone to the same thing as Germany with unifying it

the United States would've had more time extending west and could have remained more neutral in world affairs at its infancy

No Napoleon the third which caused a major rivalry between France and Germany

Most empires would not have as much bad blood between them that would look more at foreign nations then other European nations
