Description I created this in Vue 8 Xstream. I used a Torus with a fractal and "Rock and Moss" Texture. The sky is the "Life and Death" sunset, with a few tweaks. I also added an ecosystem of small grasses to the material to simulate small mosses. The snake is from the the Vue 8 extras disc, along with the pot. The plant is the "Fuzzy twins" from the alien plants. I rendered this in "Superior" Render time: 35 minutes in widescreen 16:10 at 1600x1000 pixels. Polygon count: 11 million.

Looks cool, even if it looks a bit unreal. I mean the foreground is really bright, which makes me almost think of an pre-made scene with a painted back ground, but I really like the effect.

Yeah I agree to an extent. Getting the lighting right in Vue with all those atmospheric controls is pretty tough sometimes, and it's the lighting that makes it look real. Thanks for the fav btw.

I know, it's a pain, especially when you're trying to archive a certain effect. I recently tried to create the same scene I did in Terragen some time back and failed miserably, but then I guess I'm still very new to Vue and have to learn a lot.

I think the shadows here are too well defined - they need to be a lot softer for the time of day that your background plate indicates. The colour of the sand should also be affected by the background.

That being said, I do like this image. There's something about it that just makes me want to keep looking at it.
well done.

Thanks, I watched a great tutorial from Dax Pandhi (Vueport group) about creating "Hyperterrains" in Vue. Great stuff.
