Description Thanks you cartoonobsessedSTAR1 for letting me use your S3 template.

Season 3 is good-decent, but honestly my least favorite season.

Compared to Season 1-2, I feel like Season 3 should improve how to time their episodes and incorporate what scenes work and what scenes don’t work.

I’ll give Return to Mewni a pass because it does show the differences between Star and Moon, although the reveal of Toffee killing Moon’s mother came 10 minutes in the episode. And it segues into the flashback episode “Moon the Undaunted”.

Book Be Gone and Marco and the King have their issues of padding. BBG had a simple plot of Ludo trying to write in the spell book but it took up almost the entire episode especially the part where Ludo walks back to the monster temple. And until the end, something actually happened... that’s Ludo burning the book and Glossaryck.

Marco and the King had its issue where we see River partying twice in a row. Can they cut out the second time to make room to actually show something worth watching. For example, I could’ve expected a motivation for Marco to go to Mewni to catch up with Star. @mysteriesofmewni had this idea that Angie told Marco to go to Mewni in order to get him to stop moping that Star disappeared. To tie in with Marco being gone for weeks as of Sophomore Slump, maybe after Angie cheers him up, Marco has the idea to go to Mewni for a little while (that’s half the summer) BUT NOPE. King River’s padding skipped a good opportunity.

Scent of a Hoodie could trim down some of the slow drama and showing from Marco's side how he is doing without Star and how he faces the consequences of his actions as he left for Mewni with a box of cereal leaving his parents and Jackie worried.

Club Snubbed had the repetitive slow paced dancing sequences until 7 minutes in we get something.

Stranger Danger could’ve explained more about Eclipsa if they didn’t had some Big Lipped Alligator Moment. Same for Demoncism with Tom.

Pony Head and the Seahorse at Reflectacorp as well as the MHC examining Star.

Princess Turdina finally had something happening halfway through the episode after a couple of filler.

Death Peck could’ve saw Star, Marco, and Pony Head getting all the signatures from the kingdoms instead of having 75% of the episode getting chased by pigeons.

Stump Day... I don't know how I felt but there was shipping drama.

The Bogbeast episode was slow paced and with an impatient Star, it took a while until 8 minutes in Star takes action. We could've got more adventure if Star and River went on this long journey instead of repeating an already boring sequence.

Total Eclipsa the Moon had this unnecessary moment where Moon was staring at this spider while stuck in a rat hole and it lasted a minute.

Butterfly Trap didn’t start the trial until halfway through the episode, I’ll probably give that a pass. The same for Ludo, Where Are Thou? when it’s Ludo doing therapy to stand up to his own parents.

Is Another Mystery did feel slow paced. There were moments that felt like padding.

I felt like had a problem with Marco Jr. thinking that it's uncanon and out of place but it's character development for Marco and things to come in Season 4.

Skooled! had 20-25% as a Pony Head filler until Miss Heinous crashed the school. Then it got better.

Bam Ui Pati! is an example of huge padding. Some scenes and gags felt too long, the plot can be easily completed in 5-6 minutes. Make room for a Marco subplot. If we see Pony Head doing bad to his own sisters, Marco does the opposite when he helps prepare for the arrival of his baby brother. Sorry my personal headcanon.

Tough Love had a first half. The pigeon scene could’ve been cut out, the Mewni citizens complaining could’ve been trimmed a bit.

Now Divide and Conquer were amazing episodes though it could’ve been better if there was a lot more action. 2/3 of Divide was all set up. Star being in the Realm of Magic with Moon could’ve been trimmed a bit. Marco’s Marcnificent 7 had some comedic bits that didn’t feel necessary. Maybe replace that with seeing a quick scene of Mina Loveberry fighting Meteora. And Star choosing someone to go after Meteora instead of Marco was a bit of a stretch.

I wished there was a lot more fighting in Season 3. Daron knew how to keep the action going in older episodes because Starco was the starring dynamic of the show. Now S3 came along, and Starco was put aside. But I hope the writers improve in Season 4. Less padding/filler, more Starco dynamic with adventures. And royalty might be necessary since Star could become Queen even if she gave Eclipsa the wand, but I hope we get back to action/adventure/comedy but with some but less drama.

I had feared that TomStar will be canon, and even Kellco will be endgame but Marco has no interest in Kelly.

Maybe I didn't understand that this was all character development, it will pay off very soon.
