One guy in a 40K tournament in Greece was using this Aegis and it was really WOW! Are you still selling them?

Hey! I received the models, thanks very much. I do look forward to cleaning them up (they do need some work but don't worry, that's very understandable) and painting them. Great work.
One question: what it the name of the kit you are using? I am making a custom design crysis suit as a body guard for my brother's tau commander, and I would like to make a replica so he can have two variants, but I don't have any experience with casting.

thanks, glad you like them. Not sure what you mean by kit? Do you mean silicone? i get mine from tiranti's (UK suppliers) it's about Β£20 for 1kg.

below is a basic video i did for mould making.

Sorry, I wasn't very clear. What I meant is, which type of resin and silicon do you use? I have looked at your video and the Tiranti website and just don't know which of the many products to get.

If selling make sure to name them different than gw stuff (no gw names at all). Just say that it is supposed to be used with gw stuff

I have promised my girlfriend not to buy anything 40k related this year after my most recent mass acquisition of FW stuff, but if you sell these again after the new year I'll definitely be getting one of those ^^ They look awesome!

Love these things and love the fact they look like the gun platforms.

I could imagine guardians deploying these to hid behind and deploy around key locations like webway portals.

It is true the Eldar do have shield tech but it is more holo fields they use and these could easily be holo filed projects and the 4+ cover save they get from them is in good standing.

The Eldar are often acting in defence they just happen to attack to do it
It is easier to attack the commander of the army that will hammer you when the is still a privet or junior officer better still to kill is granddad before he is born
But yes the Eldar often defend their β€œtrue worlds” and β€œmaiden worlds”

these look great. but i'm having trouble seeing if these are custom or not. haha
stupid question time
are they custom or made out of gw parts?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

4AcrossIsEmu In reply to Hartlok [2012-12-08 19:47:28 +0000 UTC]

the masters are 100% hand made out of standard millput and styrene (plasticard). No kit bashing here

looks good, but seems slightly wrong for the Elder to use such static, semi-permanent defences, rather than some kind of energy fields?

This is a pretty cool idea. It definitely looks like it could work.

I like what you did for the long sections of the defense line.

ColonelYeo In reply to NicklausofKrieg [2012-12-08 07:47:38 +0000 UTC]

I see your point. The Eldar aren't exactly known for defensive lines. But if you take their technology into account, you could probably work in some kind of advantage in terms of an energy shield. Or something else to that extent.

NicklausofKrieg In reply to ColonelYeo [2012-12-14 06:01:03 +0000 UTC]

sure thing, i mean in DoW2 Guardian squads have small power shields as deployable cover

i'd say at the very most Eldar go on the defensive on a tactical level while defense on a strategic scale is something they will never do

4AcrossIsEmu In reply to ColonelYeo [2012-12-08 10:08:57 +0000 UTC]

Yeah this was my issue too, Eldar just wouldn't do static defence outside a craftworld perhaps an old exodite world. So these are meant to hover and land in place as a beachhead to just webway emerging troops cover a bit like the old medieval crossbow wooden siege walls that would be moved up.

I went down this road after seeing a few forcefield ones on dakka, Eldar actually don't use fields all that much and usually only in a support role to deaden blows rather than outright shot stopping. That sort of thing is more the orks domain really. So i looked at these as just another form of platform that they could deploy.
