Aphrodite is usually seen slithering inside Valens's robe or around his shoulders. She liked sleeping and once settled down in a comfortable spot, will refuse to move. Beside Valens, Aphrodite doesn't take very nicely to anyone else and will bare her fangs upon being touched without her permission. Just like her owner, she is unfriendly and hard to approach. She likes her things and her places the way they are and won't hesitate to strike at anyone who dares to challenge her authority. (It's okay, her bites are harmless.)

As a rule, dragon heartstrings produce wands with the most power, capable of the most flamboyant spells.
While they can change allegiance if won from their original master, they always bond strongly with the current owner.

- Valens has quite a cynical outlook on the world despite his age (thanks to his parents). He tends to question others' goodwill, and believe people are usually motivated by personal gain.
- Valens always speaks his mind and tells others what he thinks of them without any second of hesitation if asked, no matter if it's a good or a bad thing.
- The boy can be quite a perfectionist, he has his eyes set at a standard higher than any normal person's; sometimes he might give people a hard time trying to keep everything going right according to his plan.
- Do you hate that one student in the class that always somehow overdo their assignment and make your own work looks bad in front of the professor? That's probably Valens. The boy is quite and over-achiever, and take every assignment or task given to him quite seriously.
- He often doesn't tell lies, but sometimes he will lie to people for his own amusement. Valens can be considered to be a teaser. He likes getting people into trouble by telling them what they're not supposed to do and watch the world comes crashing down on them on the sideline.
- Without realizing, Valens shows great bias for those he considers more than just acquaintances. He is a loyal friend, maybe not on the caring side, but rather than saying nice things, he prefers using his action to demonstrate his feelings.
✠ [ HISTORY ]
TLDR; Valens was born into a pureblood family. His parents were strict on him to the point he felt suffocating. He was a disappointment to them because by the age of 5 he still didn't manifest his wizardry power yet. His only comfort was his grandfather.
When Valens was 6, his grandfather had a heart attack during one of Valens' visit. His power manifested in his attempt to save his grandfather, but it was a futile attempt and the man still passed away. Valens became even quieter after that, only indulged himself in books and knowledge until he got a letter from Hogwart. Without much hesitation, Valens accepted the invitation and left his home. He still came back to visit his family during break despite him not particularly wanted to.
Born to a pure-blood family with elitist parents that held great influence in the Ministry of Magic, Valens was expected to excel in everything he did. From his look, the way he acted, his intelligent, down to his very magical ability. Valens nailed everything down, except the magical ability part. Valens was quite a late bloomer. His parents had expected him to show his magical prowess very early on, but by the age of 5, Valens still didn't show any sign of magical ability. But even then, every day he was still taught magical lesson and magical theory by his parents, in the hope he would finally be "completed." Of course, there was the fear that he could be a Squib, but his parents were two of the most elitist, pureblooded wizards, there was no way they could accept the fact that their son could turn out to be a Squib.
During this time, Valens' grandfather was the only comfort that he could find, the only one that would treat him like an actual child, and the only one that gave him the childhood that every child deserves. His grandfather requested him to come over to his house every weekend to hang out, to which his parents could only reluctantly agree to. Those days of the week were the days that Valens generally looked forward to the most.
But his happiness soon ended when he was 6. During one of his visits, his grandfather suddenly suffered a heart attack. In Valens' panic state of mind, his magical talent manifested. When the ambulance from St.Mugos arrived, his grandfather's house was in total dismay, as if a tornado just passed by. Valens later said he tried to save his grandfather with his magic, but in his magical knowledge, he knew no spell that could stop a person from dying to a heart disease condition.
After his grandfather's funeral, Valens' life became dull and plain. If anything changed, it was his parents. They were even stricter to him than before now that he'd shown he was capable of magical prowess.
By the age of 11, Valens received a letter from Hogwarts. His parents thought this could be a good learning opportunity for him. But to Valens, it was a promising land where he didn't have to deal with his parents on a daily basis anymore.
