At the end of A Canterlot Wedding part 1, I saw some incredible moments of idiocy. You'd think that coming off of "Mystery on the M.M.M. Express" Twilight would look for evidence to support her case that this wasn't the real Candance. Instead, she just makes a blind accusation that isn't believed by anypony.
Even without evidence, you'd think Celestia would have figured out there was something strange going on based on the fact that Twilight had been the main force for saving Equestria twice and because Twilight was her personal. She had no suspicions about this at all.
With those moments, you'd think Chrysalis, encountering Twilight one on one would be an easy victory. Instead, she makes the same mistake as many James Bond villains and leaves Twilight for dead instead of just killing her. Furthermore, she led Twilight directly to the one pony who could prove her right. Not to mention, somepony else with the power to beat her.

Another problem Chrysalis had was confronting Twilight in the first place. Had she done nothing, Twilight would have remained away and shamed, and none would be the wiser.
