Description Apologies for the title, but I think everyone will agree that it takes nerves of steel to pass someone in a corner in the rain at over 270 km/h with a 90° right turn barely 200 metres ahead. The next time that you make a sudden stop safely on a wet road, remember that it is events such as this that lead to the development of the vehicles and tires that keep our families safe.

The #6 Muscle Milk sponsored HPD ARX-03a LMP1 passes the Alex Job Racing #23 Lotus Evora GT car in turn 4 at the Grand Prix of Mosport, July 22nd, 2012.

Despite the title, there are also many female drivers who have done well at Mosport. In 2001, Milka Duno finished second in LMP675 class in the Dick Barbour Racing Judd GV675 powered Reynard 01Q at the ALMS Grand Prix of Mosport, the same year she set the record of highest finish for a female driver in the 24 Hours of Daytona.

Is this during the Rolex Sports Car Series or another group like it? I love watching these races. ^_^

This was the Grand Prix of Mosport, part of the American LeMans (ALMS) series. ALMS usually has four or five categories on the track at the same time (Prototype 1, Prototype 2, Prototype C, GT & GTC) so there is always a lot of overtaking. In this case the Honda is a P1 and the Lotus is a GT.

XD I know what the classes are. This sounds almost exactly like the Rolex series. A combination of P1-3 racers and a whole bunch if GT + GTC cars both racing @ the same time, but with different classes. (The Corvette Daytona Prototypes dominated the whole series. OwO)

My understanding is that the Rolex series is regulated by Grand-AM rules, while ALMS follows the FIA rules around the 24 hours of LeMans. ALMS predates the Rolex series though; I remember watching back when the Porsche Daytona Prototypes raced, but ALMS comes to Canada so when I realized I only had enough bandwidth to follow one endurance series I stuck with the later.

If you check out the ALMS section of my gallery you'll find some more images, I've been shooting the Mosport race yearly for the last 12 years.

I'm always amazed at how little they actually slow down when the rain falls (at least those with rain tires that is!)

That #6 is a badass machine. Nice work bringing us the grit and drama of sports car racing.
