Description

While Demeter doesn’t like the concept of marriage and would prefer if Persephone remained unmarried, she does expect her daughter to one day have children.

I can tell you already now that July is going to be a less productive month for me, since I have plans to go away and visit friends. But I still hope to be able to draw a couple of comic pages as well.

WHOA. And yes! And whoa

Gorgeously drawn, as always. Also, poor Hecate here. Just trying to make peace and being totally ignored

Thank you!
Heh, yeah. But I don't think Hekate could have stopped this. Persephone had too much repressed anger that needed to get out.

Oh I can completely understand Persephones feelings right now.
I just hope Demeter at least tries to understand where she's coming from.

Demeter will accept it eventually, but it will take some time.

Hekate is right, its downright frigid. And exploded into a super nova!!

Persephone is letting out all the frustration, the anger, the discontent. She knows what she wants, if she doesn't want kids, being older then Demeter when she had Persephone. Then her mother should trust her to know what she wants, and not give into to her 'expectations.'

I mean, Demeter doesn't like the concept of marriage, you don't see her caving into Hera wanting Demeter to be married.

Unfortunately, Demeter assumes that most women want children (and if they don't want children of their own for some reason, they wouldn't mind to adopt a child). She thought that Persephone was just afraid of the responsibility or had poor self-confidence. She really should trust her a bit more.

True that, oh, Demeter. Thousands of years old, and still learning.

Yeah! I think that Persephone needed to know that she actually has support from someone (Hades) to finally be more honest about this to her mother.

That's it, it's sayed... I'm guessing Persephone is going to run away on the only place she now she could be okay... Hell yeah, litteraly

A-gnosis In reply to Lulu-folle [2019-06-30 03:43:16 +0000 UTC]

Oh, she will consider it. And it was very tempting to let her do it too, but I really want there to be some kind of abduction. It would feel a bit wrong to totally erase that part.

AlgaeNymph [2019-06-28 19:24:30 +0000 UTC]

Why don't people listen to Hecate more?  That would solve so many problems.

Oh dear, and that's only half the story, how'll she react when she learns about H'n'P's little tete a tete... And then P's retort!
Then I imagein even Zeus'll hide beneath the sofa...

She probably won't learn about that part until after the whole abduction thing when Persephone has returned to her from the Underworld.

A-gnosis In reply to Nelyasun [2019-06-29 20:36:46 +0000 UTC]

That's good. I don't know if my mother understands me, but she did at least accept it.  I got sterilized when I was 29 and I think that she maybe would have had a problem with that if I had been her only child. But I'm not, I have ten younger siblings (because obviously my mother never considered abortion or sterilization) and some of them have given her grandchildren.

Nelyasun In reply to A-gnosis [2019-06-30 07:09:30 +0000 UTC]

one of five, and there is already three grandchildren from my two oldest siblings, with a very big possiblity that my younger sister's curretn relationship will be serious since she already have been dating for a year

ks-claw [2019-06-28 15:54:18 +0000 UTC]

Oh Persephone, I know how you feel. And Demeter... considering things you've been through, you should *really* be more understanding towards people who don't want children forced upon them.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

A-gnosis In reply to ks-claw [2019-06-29 20:25:19 +0000 UTC]

She should be a bit more understanding. She would totally understand if a woman who got pregnant from rape didn't want her child, but a woman who doesn't want children at all is something she has a hard time to accept.

Stripesthegriff [2019-06-28 15:47:38 +0000 UTC]

Dang, shit just got real. But props to Persephone for finally being honest to her mother about what she wants.
I do feel for Demeter tho, she’s just trying to help but doesn’t understand.
And Hekate, lmao, she’s relatable.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

A-gnosis In reply to Stripesthegriff [2019-06-29 19:58:00 +0000 UTC]

Yes, Persephone should have been more honest a long time ago, but I think she actually needed to know that there are people (Hades) who don't mind that she doesn't like or want children to have the confidence to say it.
But I'm glad I made you feel for Demeter, too. I never wanted to portray her as an unsympathetic character who is a pain in the ass to Persephone just because.
