I think this is the epitome of the Kataang relationship. Why Taang doesn't make any sense. Aang doesn't just love Katara. He needs her. Their connection is so deep. Even though this isn't the greatest art, it is definitely the most touching. I think this is my favorite Kataang picture that I've ever seen. It captures their relationship so well. Beautiful. And you do a great job of showing something that, personally, I trhink the show failed to address. Aang is a monk, and therefore he would not have had an easy life. He'd have been taught from birth to reject many of the things we take for granted.
True, they touched upon things here and there, but never putting it in the forefront like you have.
So for that, I salute you.

Yes, I agree! I mean, Aang is a person who can go by with very little, but even if he grew up being taught that way, it still would have been hard. That's what I really like about the Kataang relationship-- while it's sweet and pleasant, there's this extra dynamic it to it because Aang is a monk. Being with her is a defiance to what he was probably taught, and that creates this undercurrent of tension and conflict. It's great for character development and really adds to the level of love he has for her! <3
