I just got swamped with work and school, so much that I didn't want to spend any of my free time on my desk haha. I took this 2013-2014 school year off but my fiancee and I started our own photography and film business, so it's been a lot of post-production for both of us on our computer desks. When I was done with projects, all I wanted was to get my butt off the chair lol, and I didn't want to submit crappy works in here. So yeah
But I've missed drawing like crazy and decided to come back and see how my fave website is doing

I have mixed feelings about the show. I love it for it's action and the schadenfreude in the first few episodes, but I can't stand the slow pacing that followed it, but I also realize Wit Studio's gotta save the big bucks for the giant action sequences. I went ahead and read the manga to get some answers. When I thought about their world, some of the math just didn't add up and I wanted to know if there was a more clever explanation for it.
I do like Mikasa's moment of clarity though and Eren's a real douche towards her so she's got quite the resolve to protect his stupid ass.

sometimes the use of still-shots and camera pans and other money-saving animation techniques really bothers me too...I wish these studios had a bigger budget, because it would SO be worth it.

They definitely are hitting the pan-and-scan technique a lot. I think there was an episode where they tried to do some one-off comedy, but the pan-and-scan just ruined the timing. Wit Studio had tweeted that they needed to hire more animators, and I also noticed (and I don't know if this is a new thing) that there are a lot of Vietnamese animators working on the show (the 3D shots, I believe). Crunchyroll's already mentioned that ep. 14 is a recap episode too. :/ (Sorry if that's spoilers... just imagine the last 13 episodes condensed into 22 minutes because they could probably do it.)

Overall, this is very well done and looks really polished. The inking and shading turn out great, the extent of them allow the character and even the rest of the picture to pop out boldly. It looks like you're pretty thoughtful in what you want to put in the background.
