Description I've submitted a sunrise scene again I think I'm obsessed with early hours of day.

In this submission, I've focused on texturing. Unwrapping the UVW's, painting them and creating diffuse, specular, displacement and bumps maps was a real challenge for me but I've enjoyed a lot. The whole scene was done in 3 days (approximately 40 hours) using 3dsmax. I spent most of my time with unwrapping and texture painting in Photoshop.

I didn't play too much with the lighting and rendering setup because this is just a still image and I know I can easily tweak the scene in post-production. I've rendered two images, a direct and an indirect pass using Vray RC3 (that was doubled my render time but I wanted more control on shadow and highlights) then saved them 32bit format and edited with Fusion and also an occlusion and a reflection pass was blended with the main render.

At last, final touches, minor manupulations, framing and titles. are done using Photoshop

I hope you'll like and your advanced comments and critics are always welcome.

Here is the wireframe version if you are interested.

Çok teşekkürler,
Ben de sizi CG-Turk'ten hatırlıyorum. Özellikle Motion Graphics Showreel'iniz çok iyiydi. Özendim, imrendim desem yerinde olur

Başarılar dilerim, tekrar teşekkürler.

Never heard of 3dsmax or Vray RC3. You must be very good with computer graphic programs.

This work is beautiful.

Thanks for your interest.

These softwares are just tools of trade, they only help during production.
In this case an artist with strong traditional background like you is better than a "software geek"

I'm dying to explore the graphic programs out there. I know Photoshop pretty well (see [link] ) And have had Painter IX for a couple of years, but it's so far very hard for me.

I admire the work you do with these applications.

Most digital artists are addicted to the help files.
You can easily understand the tools and interface of an application with a couple of manuals and help documents.

I'm glad to being appreciated by an artist like you.

I am completely in love with it, very nicely done. Textures and displacement are very well arranged. Besides Street Light and the transperant Tree this would look 100% positive
Great work

nice1. i thought displacement was only for grass and furry objects. man, this is a lot of work (i can imagine working w/ bumps and displacements ). and the uvw mapping, wow! i wish i can unfold its mystery. that 40 hrs is worth it, great job.

Thanks a lot for your interest

I am still not good at unfolding complex geometries like trees, human, vehicles, etc... , I'm working on it. In this work i played with low polygon planes and primitives and post-produciton is a life saver. I've corrected the most mistakes in the post stage.

Unfortunately, I'm going to spend my next 40 hours for commercials projects and clients. I wish I'll save some cash for an A4 sized Wacom tablet, so texturing will be much funnier eheahe

oh.. so you will be using a tablet for texturing. i've completely no idea how it works on a wacom. anyway, goodluck on your projects.

Yes, it's displaced and also the pavement border and the stone above the window on the ground have a subtle amount of displacement.

Thanks for your interest.
