you see that window fabric? what do you use to make like get through it?transluscency?i've really tried doing something similar but i always fail.with the default scanline its pretty easy, but with vray i cant.

They are standart Vray material with specular, diffuse, bump and reflect maps. Render times will be intolerable with SSS and translucency for this scene. I did the bloom and shine effect in post process.
Thanks for your interest and comment.

great render, it looks like a photo! however, the dome on the ceiling look a bit strange for me.

Oh, it took a huge amount of time on dual xeon. how's working with vray sky and sun?

It's acting like Maxwell's "Physical Sky".
A VraySky map for environment slot and a VraySun for direct lighting so they can simulate a nice and realistic environment. But we must use Vray Phsyical Camera to prevent colorburn and bleeding. We can control the bleed and burn values easily with f-stop and shutter speed options of VPC.
At last this options are not available with the current. These are features of Vray 1.5 and not working properly. If you want to try you can contact ChaosGroup and get a free, demo or beta version.
