Description I don't like photometric lights, I also hate night shots in 3d visualization. I always love the combination of natural sun light and soft touch of bluish sky light
In this scene I used 2 IES lights on the walls and a Vray light on the ceiling but I must confess that I'm not very satisfied with the result.
Besides I intented to capture an exciting shot with unusual camera angles like seen on the second image, hope you like it! Anyway I wanted to upload the scene to see your advanced critiques.
Scene modeled with 3dsmax and rendered using by Vray 1.48 and some modeling credit goes to Archmodels.

Its a beautiful rendering. I love the overall feel.

Something that bothers me is that the sink does not seem to be in scale, it seems quite high. Another point is the steel shelving unit in the bath, its actually in the same preiphery of the shower range, it would make standing and showering tough as it obstructs, maybe its a foldable one? Perhaps the triple layer of them makes it stand out?

While working, Neufert is my reference about measure and scale standarts, sink height is what Neufert says
But You are totally right about shover and steel shelving. I'll be more careful and precise about it.
Thanks for advance advices, happy to hear these from one of my favorite artist.

the only things not entirely perfect I'd say are the lampshades (something weird about them, dunno), the tiles on the wall, and the black in the window and inside the shower.

the rest is fantastic! I especially love the structure of the floor (visible in the 2nd shot) and the little rug. keep it up!

nice render, but overall lighting looks too uniform, and not as rich as real-world sunlight. and the wall light would be better in other color like a bit to the yellow+orange. the little window, there should be some light coming in, isn't it?

however, i light the extreme angle, look cool! ^_^

Cubiclegangster [2006-08-12 14:51:15 +0000 UTC]

The grouting on the tiles is a bit thick, it looks like cobblestones and they could do with a bit of glossy reflection/displacement. The map youve used has a natural shadow on the top to it too, so it gives the impression of an inverted bump.

Other than that minor gripe, its fantastic work, I love the floor and rug materials.

You'r right. I've seen the wierd natural shadow on tiles, I'll check it soon.
Thanks for your advices and comments.

very nice modelling and the texturing is very nice too, having said that there is something that bothers me about this im not sure maybe it is the lighting...the tiling on the walls seems a bit off im not sure in what way...but none the less very nice render!
