Oh my god, it's old Abarat fanart!So, basically, this comic has no purpose whatsoever. Three years ago I had just discovered the sketching pen, and I decided to draw a comic. I didn't have the first idea of how shadows really worked, and some panels make me want to vomit, but I enjoyed writing Carrion.
For Abarat fans: This obviously features a younger, less angsty Christopher Carrion. Notice how happy he is just being a villain, and how he does NOT wax philosophical about it! Note also the lack of fishbowl-thing on head!
So I guess this must be pre-Boa, then.

They're rather neat books, and they're accompanied with the most amazing illustrations and poetry - I highly recommend them!

This is awesome! I love the little text "Euthanasia or something"! Hilarious! I too agree that Carrion is not the most evil and definately the best character. (And yes Boa is a heartless tart). The next book is expected around autumn of this year so we'll get to see more of the story finally. (Carrion can NOT be dead!)

I agree that Carrion really isn't the worst villain in the Abarat, and he's absolutely the most interesting and complex character. I mean, the man reads and writes poetry, for heaven's sake! (the introductory poem to part 4 of the first book - "a verse, inscribed by an anonymous hand, on a boulder on Vesper's Rock". I think that it was totally Carrion. It's rather a lovely poem, too - "The soul is all/ and all alone".)
I think it would be fantastic if Mr. Barker wrote a short story or something about his youth, or even the Boa years...

I am not sure if it is just me, but I cant see Carrion as the worst character in the story. His grandmother is way worse and I am kind of mad at Princess Boa for what she did to Carrion when he was in love with her. But that is just me. All in all this is very nifty and I would like to see more!!

I thought that he might have said the word as a child... maybe read it in a book or something. I just can't see a fully-grown Carrion submitting too easily to having his lips sewn shut.

XD I love your panneling. I can just imagine Carrion like that. (I was speaking the dialogues while reading-darn m performance major XD) I would give Carrion a sort of lazy speak with a little extended "S"es on certain words

This is also an excellent example of how the duel crosshatching achieves more than one way cross-hatching. Especialy on the wall in the top frame. Very, Very great!
