I have seen lots of spider man drawings in my life, but I think this is the best. The lines of the web following his body volume, the pose, the Romita-esque eyes. Itβs sublime. Thanks for producing it. I feel so lucky for stumbling on it.

Spidey's pose is actually in response to the "Cat Fight" that Felicia and Selina had at the Big Apple Con.

I'm not quite certain what I love best about your convention sketches, the beautiful artwork or those laugh-out-loud one liners you come up with. Wonderfully done (all of them).

Ha Ha Ha!!!! Yeah I've seen this Spidy image before........ it's the speech bubble that helps make it look great.
Show's a bit of Spider-Man/Peter Parker youth-like attitude.

How is drawing Spidey easier than Catwoman?! I find those webbing patterns to be the biggest pain in the world.... Besides, drawing the face always makes it easier for me to visualize the expression of the body language, and Spidey lacks the mouth Selina has when she's wearing her goggles (assuming you can't see through them).
I like the use of both the warm and the cool gray Copic markers here. Did you use a colorless blender for the separations in the background?

You said it would be "an easy switcheroo". I thought it would be a bigger aggravation than the leather of Selina's motorcycle jumpsuit-like duds. I mean, it's a lot of fun to draw him in all those wacky web-slinging poses, but they give me a real headache. I've also heard from other artists that those webs are a really huge pain. I've also heard that some artists just suggest them and leave them up to the inker to deal with.

Nice one, although it didn't completely cover up the little bit of femininity in the pose... lol but the humor helped.

I don't think I would have noticed the unusual pose but I admire your honesty anyway. The dialogue certainly makes it work.
I hope the buyer was OK with the shuffle, I'd like to think I would have been but I must confess I might have had a pang of disappointment on discovering it was a reworked piece. Immediately followed by guilt for being an ungrateful sod since the piece looks great anyway.
It looks like you put a fair bit more work into this one over and above a regular con sketch in any case, which more than makes up for the sleight of hand.

Well, I know the guy who won this sketch, and I think he's the type to appreciate a peice with a sense of humor and a story behind it. If he doesn't like it... I just draw him another, more manly Spidey.
Always make the customer happy!
