Description
Decided to do a 2nd try of this guy, since I wasn't too happy about the previous one (which is here: [link] ).Ardeth Bey (it's really Bay, isn't it? I like Bey better, so I use that
), character from "The Mummy".Did some artistical freedom on his clothes and accessories. That's the Thomson he's holding, btw, for those who have seen "The Mummy Returns".
Pencils 2H to 3B, finished 01.02-05.
Done from a (small and crappy, as always) photo of Oded Fehr (the actor) and added the rest of the stuff (the glyphes and so on)

Hehe, so that's what it means! Ardeth Bey has lots of tattoos, apparently, and that's one of them. I just copied it a lousy reference picture of him, so if it's written correctly, I'll be both surprised and happy!

Yeah, that's what it means. (Although I still wonder why this one is on his forhead. The word 'Medjai' would have made more sense or warrior or...) I still feel silly for not having seen it before. I thought all his tattoos very arabic ones (but I am not even sure about that anymore) and I totally missed this one being in Middle Egyptian.
And yes, you have written it correctly - you should not worry. There's a lot of ways how to write hieroglyps and people who can read it are used to decipher the most unusual looking signs anyway. ^^ (complete with default grammar and missing hieroglyphs)

WOW, totally amazing detail. And it is Bey (not Bay), so you are right, it is the Ottoman term for Mr, Ardeth being the first name, so if your name was John Smith,you would be called John Bey

I've seen him in Resident Evil and Deuce Bigalow, Male Giggolo (recomended if you haven't seen it, crazy stuff, but very funny!). Haven't seen the latest Mummy, will probably see it on DVD, but sort of scared... Don't want to find out if it sucks badly
