Description Hello there (:

Here is a traditional printing from my last semester, don't know why I haven't shown it earlier.

This lady is a Mamuna (you can check it in Wikipedia). Mamunas are described as hairy and ugly women, but sometimes they look like beautiful girls in white dresses with some kind of a red hat on their heads. I've read about a belief that if you steal Mamuna's hat she will be nice to you. There are a lot of other stories with them but since they belong to slavic mythology I think they are easier to be found in Polish than in English :3

mamuna? strange never heard about it, but I live in baltic region (lithuania), and we have forest goddesses too, who sometimes looks ugly and sometimes beautiful and are have evil personality (like forest mermaids of some kind), but we calling them LAUMES .

This is really beautiful, it's very raw not just because of the background but also emotionally. I love the black/white/red motif in the background, and the striking brightness in the front. It matches really nicely with the composition. Although for some reason her hair looks slightly like dreadlocks but that might by something I picture with it because of the shape of the hat. This is so lovely to look at, really adore it!
