Description
As promised, a brand new painting of Morgan (as you’ve never seen him before)!
This was a speedpaint idea that turned into something much more over the course of a week, and pushed me to practice anatomy, lighting and perspective, among other things. Adele, I don't even know where to start!! This is absolutely STUNNING!! First of all, his face is so beautiful - so well rendered, and I just love his nose. His musculature is very well done, and I love how he's holding the cat, it's very natural.
I love the composition, with those awesome wings, and the flowing black. The details are really nice, too - around his shoulders, and the scars. This might just be my screen, but the front of his body, where it meets the black, looks harsh. The line on his leg is soft, though. Not sure if it's my monitor, tho!
Anyway, I definitely think this is one of my absolute favorite of yours!! I would so hang a huge picture of this in my room!!!

Oh, thank you! ^__^ He's been inspiring me a lot lately--in fact, he's dominated my character pile for three years running now, lol. Do you know I haven't drawn Faeren since 2010?? o_O I blame Nimri for this!
Yeah, I know about the harshness, but that's not the way I painted it! For some reason it sharpened up like that when I altered the color/contrast from my art comp to lcd monitor-viewable. The background's also too sharp and blaring on this--it's a lot softer in the original painting. I may have had the variations filter in Photoshop set too sharp or something...I'll have to investigate further.
