Loki in tears, with wild hair - based on the Tom/Coriolanus original double set digi rendition > admiraldemoy.deviantart.com/ar… .Having started on this before the new Loki Hot Toy/on-set pictures came out today, with Tom in his new Dark World kit & gorgeous longer locks, I couldn't be burdened to change the hair again to make it even curlier, & this is close enough to the new look in Thor 2, just a bit straighter & wilder. That, 'just-out-of-bed' look. I added a few more tears, though - & of course gave him green eyes. Making the background a darker steel-grey, to emphasise on the 'dark/er' air, & hair.

Well, technically it's from Coriolanus, but I thought, add some hair & make it Loki. Believe it or not, the hair is referenced from a Rachel Weisz portrait. I thought the idea to take the hair from Freddy's lover to give it to Loki was rather funny.
I got sloppy at the end & just painted in thick curls down the bottom after all that fine hair.
I might rework/correct it slightly (hair-wise) & then offer it, yeah, to fill your wall.

Between the crease in his forehead, the wide eyes and tears kissing his cheeks I don't think I have ever been so moved by a portrait. It's the level of emotions you put in this, even in the slight pull of his bottom lip ... The colors are demanding against the black hair and everything about it is perfect all in the right places. I can not get over how much I do love this piece.

i look at it as, imperfections in the right places always draw the eye back to the details that mean the most though. so it's a good thing

Oh I know, that's why some might have done so in fact, hoping for a Loki to come after them, hahahahahaha. No but seriously - as fun as it sounds, it's pretty serious & plenty have messed with my work that I wished Loki WAS real TO send him after them & kick their butts! (That's why I didn't say that in my latest work anymore.)

You did an amazing job with the hair ! However I think you emphasized the eyelashes too much, that makes him look even more effeminate than he already is xD Still looks great, though !

Well, have you seen my other works? I don't really see anything 'effeminate' here to be honest either, lash or hair-wise. I always emphasise on lashes since Tom HAS very long ones, except they're hardly noticeable in many pictures for being blond/transparent. But on extreme close-ups one can see they ARE very long. He dyed his lashes black for Only Lovers Left Alive (to go with the long dark hair), & they are visibly VERY long & full. Besides, it is my style to make them pop out, add volume, or extra hair for that matter. 'This' painting here doesn't even come close to some of my other 'long lash(/hair)' renditions.

Yes, this time they're 'real' tears, hahahaha. Of course it was a hair dryer, tee hee. Oh I dunno, I just do eyes. Might be the extra shine or more visible lashes that makes them more 'eyeing-popping'.
