Description This might be a coverpage for the WWII and I are planning to do if we ever get around to actually producing it. The character looking at the 'camera' is supposed to be the lynx character posted earlier.

How long did this take you? I'm guessing anywhere between 20 and 50 hours, but that's not really a good estimate.

Lol, I used that picture too a while ago....

I find the idea of animals in uniforms quite weird, to say the least, but it looks like you put a lot of time and effort, so yeah, nice work, man.

Well, the original photo this is based on is of Waffen-SS soldiers in Eastern Belgium during the Ardennes Offensive. It looks like you took a few liberties, but over all, it looks pretty good!

hehe... was sure everyone who saw this pic would immediately know the photo which it's based on, but you're the first to recognize it! Based on the content of yer DA name, though, I'd expect you're a WWII buff of his ilk.

As far as taking liberties... I suppose you could call it that, but it was mainly just a lack of knowledge about what I was seeing. I am not a WWII buff in the slightest and so the details of things are lost on me for the most part.

..and PIRATES !!!!! I forgot pirates... gimme more Rahkus ... that retirement-drawing was a MISTAKE

hehe... i didn't mean that i was retiring his character. He will definately be drawn a lot more. Unfortunately, I won't be able to do much new art of him until late december at the earliest due to school work, and specifically because of a big art project I'm working on for a class assignment.

I do, however, have a lot of stuff in my sketch book I haven't scanned yet, and I think there's a couple things of Rahkus in there.

very well done, even though I prefer the medieval fantasy theme to the historical one...

The scene has a very realistic feeling (although the helmets for example are a bit too round, if you wanted to make german WWII helmets)
Truly deserves a fav.

thanks for the fav

as far as the specifics of the details, all I can say is my partner in crime is the WWII nut, not me. He sends me source material and then goes off describing minute details that are neither visually relevant nor anything I know about. This one was based on a scene in a pic he sent me. I dunno if the people in the picture were German, though the characters I drew are supposed to be.

Well, the helmets look like German ones, yeah. A bit round, but I've aleady said that...

That is absolutely amazing. I adore the shading and the details in the clothing. You've also done a wonderful job on the lynx's expression, it captures the moment perfectly.

Wow, that's really good! Love the details and shading you put into it. That must have taken forever to get done.
