also this poll might have had something to do with it blix-it.deviantart.com/journal⦠I really enjoyed drawing Sedna's fur (i want to pet him :3 ) and i can't believe i drew something so dark colored. I'm sorry about Vidu's skin though, it was suppose to be darker but when i noticed it was too light i was afraid not to ruin it.

It was the wings that caught my attention with this image. The bright wings become the light that illuminates the piece, and the feeling of spiritual or religious intensity is reinforced with the actions of the white faced character folding herself/himself into the angel's arms.
The radiance of the wings is well met with the glowing yellow and orange garment of the angelic figure, and the deep blue shades of the darker character centres the colouring perfectly.
I enjoyed thinking about the expressions of the characters. The angel doesn't seem entirely benign, especially with the claw like foot and sly eye. The individual he's holding has an innocence about her/him, so it's an interesting contrast.
For vision I have to say that this piece deserves full marks, because it captures a very intense moment and the emotion is carried over to the viewer. In terms of originality I marked done a bit because the image, to me, is reminiscent of Annunciation angel art that has been seen throughout the centuries. I know that this is not an Annunciation scene, but it has a similar feel to me. The technique is masterful, highly detailed colouring on watercolour paper, and the form is fantastical. As for impact, boom, just boom.

The composition seems to be influenced by Christian religious art - not to say the theme is related, but it looks like you have looked at a lot of art from history and learned what makes it so effective.

I love the yellow glow that comes from the sun, which seems brighter because you left it white.
The fur is painted beautifully with just the right amount of detail.
Oh, and the cloth...especially the white one, it seems so realistic!
