Description HMS Bounty was built for the 1962 movie “Mutiny on the Bounty” by MGM Studios in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, to tell the story of the famous maritime mutiny that occurred in the South Pacific in 1789.

Now owned and operated by the HMS Bounty Organization LLC, she makes Greenport, Long Island, New York, her homeport.

In 2006 Bounty appeared in Disney's Pirates of the Carribbean - Dead Man's Chest. The ship carries 18 full-time paid crewmembers working side by side with our sail trainees and passengers. When docked in port, the Bounty is open for dockside tours, private functions and educational programs.

Strongly dedicated to the educational development of today’s youth, Bounty works closely with universities and other non-profit organizations to provide leadership learning and youth education-at-sea programs. The mission of the Bounty is to preserve the skills of square rigged sailing in conjunction with youth education and sail training.

It depends, when they come for the Parade of Sails they are allowed to show up anytime during the Tall Ships Festival. If they do not have to be anywhere for any reason (Bounty is a teaching ship and she is often used in movies too) then sometimes they dock and you can sail on them. Other times they only are able to show up for the parade then they have to leave. There is no information out yet on exactly which ships are confirmed to show up this year but I will let you know when I find out!

It is amazing to see them in real. They are like a piece of history come to life before your very eyes. I just wish I had the camera then that I do now.
