Description It took about 6 weeks to finish this image, working on it in bits and pieces here and there.

Officially designated the C-300, the car is more commonly referred to as the 300C. The 300C really isn't seen in the same league as its more luxurious counterparts, the New Yorker and Imperial, but in historical context it is a significant car. Styled by Virgil Exner, it's stunningly handsome from certain angles and brutish and bluff from others. The Hemi under the bonnet measures up at 331ci and was the first American car to top 300bhp.

My friend just bought a '55 New Yorker St. Regis on Meecum Auction. Wow, it's such a cool car. He'll love your drawing.

That's a great idea, I'll run up some more images, but my work rate is not very high and you might not be able to buy a calendar until 2020!

Fine work, but that's a 1955 C300. The 300C was the 1957 model.

Yes actually you might be right, you had me scratching my head and I pulled out an old Hemi book I have which was written by Robert Genat just to check - and it does refer to the model as a 1955 300C. Further investigation has found that the official designation by the Chrysler factory was C-300.

Thanks very much for the pick up, looks like I'll have to polish up on my car knowledge! Cheers!

The hardest and most challenging ink I've done, I'm pleased with the results. Your comments make the hard work all worthwhile, thank you very much!

Cool!
I like the composition with the car filling the picture plane at an interesting angle.
Your proportions are close, and you did a fine job on the foreshortening. You did a really good job of capturing the lines and character of the old Chrysler.
You have a nice range of values here. And good use of crosshatching to show the planes and contours of the body.
It's a very good piece of work!
